  • This area offers hiking and horseback riding through Squaw Valley on the Granite Chief trail. The Pacific Crest Trail provides several side hikes to Tinker Knob and and Twin Peaks. Bear Creek Trail is an easy scenic hike to take in the area. The Squaw Valley area offers opportunities for hiking, picnicking, horseback riding and taking in scenic views of the surrounding mountains and wilderness areas. This area offers hiking and horseback riding through Squaw Valley and to scenic spots to view Lake Tahoe. Squaw Valley area is located approximately 8.5 miles south of Truckee in the Truckee Ranger District in the Tahoe National Forest.
