Description:
- Sitting at an elevation of 4,600 feet, Upper Hell Hole campground is located on the north east shore of Hell Hole Reservoir. In addition to offering camping facilities, the site provides close access to Hell Hole Reservoir. Visitors would be able to participate in activities such as boating, fishing and hiking. The campground is only accessible by trail or boat.
Hell Hole Reservoir is presently stocked with catchable rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon fingerlings by California Dept. of Fish and Game. Other fish previously caught include lake are brook trout. Sacramento sucker and tui chub also present.
On site facilities: 15 camp units, vault toilets, grills and fire rings.
Caution: There are bears in the area and so keep all foods, soaps and garbage contained.
