Description:
When one thinks of Lake Tahoe in the summer, hiking and boating on the magnificent clear blue water comes to mind. And it should! But to truly enjoy Lake Tahoe, there is much more to experience. I beckon you to a four-day fest that includes great food, wine, light invigorating exercise, the best of the water has to offer, and Shakespeare with the most dramatic backdrop.
Day Note:
I suggest you arrive in North Lake Tahoe a couple hours before check-in (3PM) to meander around Tahoe City, Kings Beach, and Tahoe Vista. Find something on your own to make this experience truly yours. At about 3PM get your wonderful bed-n-breakfast room, and begin the journey we have planned for you. REMEMBER: this is a bed-n-breakfast weekend...take advantage of the Cottage Inn's hospitality and good food!read more
Day Note:
We suggest, after having a yummy breakfast in your room, driving over to the Bookshelf at the Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City. A Shakespearean play would be perfect, as your day will round out with a play from Shakespeare played out on the beach! Or maybe, rather than reading literature on a cozy, warm beach, you'd rather learn a bit more about the natural history of Tahoe. If the latter, then proceed on down with our suggestions for this day.read more

Great open-air venue and fun performances in a truly beautiful setting.
Description:
The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival is the premiere summer event at the lake. It takes place on what is called "the most scenic venue in the world": the beautiful beaches of Sand Harbor State Park, just south of Incline Village, NV.
Each year the festival offers one to two plays. One for adults and families and one for children. The actors and performances are top-knotch.
The festival starts in mid July and goes until mid August. Tickets are available at several levels including Premium, Lower Gallery Reserved and Upper Gallery. No matter where you sit though, you will get a great view of the lake, the stage and you will be able to dip your toes into the beach sand.
Refreshments are available at the park from several vendors, but most visitors bring their own food and drink. Wine and champagne are popular. Be sure to bring a blanket or a sweater; when the sun goes down it can get chilly.
Parking is available at the Sand Harbor Park parking lot, but get there early to get good parking and good seating if you do not have a reserved seat.
Day Note:
Today we offer you a choice: if you love golfing, you need to head to Incline Village for a gratifying day of 18 holes. If you prefer something more exciting (perhaps relaxing) and wet, then rafting down the Truckee River is what you should choose...and you will do this from Tahoe City.read more

Try one of their mixed drinks.
Description:
This unique eatery is named for Garfield Wood, who made a name for himself in the boating industry during the 1920s-1940s. The mahogany interior is reminiscent of Lake Tahoe's wooden boat era and huge windows offer a marvelous view of the pier and watercraft. During the summer, live music is featured at the piano bar Thursday to Saturday. The Wild Mushroom Risotto is a popular pick, and the Grilled Ribeye or Filet Mignon will satisfy beef-lovers. The marvelous Sunday Champagne Brunch is a real taste treat. A superior wine list in the moderate price range is offered.
