A number of top Hawaii chefs (such as Philippe Padovani and Edwin Goto) have added bits of their own style to the inspiring menu, which melds Mediterranean with Island cuisine. The result is one of Lanai's top gourmet restaurants. Padovani and Gotto have been gone for a while. Padovani has his own restaurant on Oahu. The latest incarnation of this classy, formal restaurant, overlooking the resort and the ocean beyond, is traditional Italian cuisine. Try the perfect homemade gnocchi or the lobster risotto. My other favorites include the osso bucco, duck and root vegetable orecchette, and shutome alla puttanesca with artichoke purée and a spicy tomato and caper sauce. Be sure to leave room for the scrumptious desserts.
