Looking for something cool to do in Las Vegas? This is a city that's got cool stuff on almost every street corner. For starters, how about a trip to the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States? The only way to get a higher view of Las Vegas is from a helicopter. Thrill-seekers are attracted to the rides at the top, and for more garden-variety Vegas things to do, there is a casino at the base of the tower. Like many cool things to do in Las Vegas, the Stratosphere has more than one attraction.
The Springs Preserve is an ambitious combination of museum, "green" technology, hiking trails, historic site, celebrity café, and archaeology. The Springs Preserve was built on the site that gave Las Vegas its name-"the meadows," in Spanish. In the days before the Strip, the water from the springs helped create an oasis in the desert.
In downtown Las Vegas, the Fremont Street Experience gives visitors a truly cool pedestrian walkway-misters from a sprinkler system and air conditioning from the hotels helps to keep the temperature down. The Neon Museum has several signs on display here, but to see the impressive collection at the Neon Boneyard, you'll have to make an appointment.
Las Vegas is full of shows, and the Cirque du Soleil has seven shows in Las Vegas. The astounding feats of the shows' acrobats have left audiences amazed for years. Le Reve, or "the dream," takes place in a watery world. There's even a splash zone in the first few rows.
