  • Looking for good barbecue in Las Vegas? Few types of food inspire as much debate as barbecue, with each region of the United States bringing its own style to the table. Whether the sauce goes on the meat or on the side, how much smokiness is too much smokiness, and how easily the meat falls off a rib bone are all debatable subjects. In Las Vegas, barbecue comes from all over the United States, making the topic of "best Vegas BBQ" an on-going conversation.

Most barbecue restaurants in Las Vegas are off the Strip. Memphis Championship Barbecue has more than one location in town, and all are outside of the tourist corridor. Home-style barbecue has made this restaurant one of the most popular with Vegas locals. Not quite a chain and definitely not a hole-in-the wall, their family-friendly restaurants and savory barbecue are crowd pleasers.

A few chain barbecue restaurants have arrived in Las Vegas, like Famous Dave's and Dickey's. The barbecue at either place is consistent, no matter where you dine, which is a plus for some, while those with more refined barbecue tastes will often go looking for something local and unique.

Top Notch Barbecue, which operates out of a food truck, doesn't have a regular restaurant, but its home-cooked foods have given it a steady customer base. Its customers are willing to find a place to sit to eat its original (and messy) meals. Small, locally owned restaurants like TC's Rib Crib and Buzz BBQ are easy to miss, but worth looking for if you want down-home barbecue in Vegas.
