The neighborhood of Summerlin is in the western portion of the Las Vegas valley. Since this is primarily a residential area, you'll mostly find name-brand, non-gaming hotels in the Summerlin area, but you will find a few neighborhood hotel casinos.
The Red Rock Resort, Suncoast, and J.W. Marriott Resort/Rampart Casino are the three neighborhood hotel casinos in this area. Visitors who don't want or need to stay close to the Strip or Downtown can still enjoy large casinos and Vegas-style amenities (spas, restaurants, bars) at these properties. Conveniently located close to Red Rock Canyon, these are good options for travelers who want to see a different side of Las Vegas.
For visitors who prefer non-gaming accommodations, the Summerlin neighborhood offers several name-brand hotels. Many of these are pet friendly and offer apartment-like rooms. Visitors who are in Las Vegas to visit family or conduct business in the Summerlin neighborhood may prefer a traditional style hotel like Holiday Inn, La Quinta, or Hampton Inn. Most are located close to the freeway, making it easy to head down to the Strip or Downtown for sightseeing.
On the far edge of the Summerlin neighborhood, you'll find the Santa Fe, a local hotel casino catering to Las Vegas residents. The Santa Fe is closer to the center of Las Vegas, and like many neighborhood hotel casinos offers guests extras like a bowling alley, movie theaters, and child care.
