Blue Diamond & Silverado Ranch - Las Vegas Things To Do

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • The southern portion of the Las Vegas valley in the Blue Diamond/Silverado Ranch neighborhood contains two hotel casinos: the Silverton and the South Point. These are good bets for finding friendly casinos and wallet-friendly restaurants and other amenities.

The Silverton is next to the Bass Pro Shop, a large outdoor sports store that attracts a crowd all by itself. Inside the Silverton, a large aquarium hold thousands of fish and mermaids. Fish feedings and mermaid shows occur throughout the day.

The South Point, which is about six miles south of the south Strip, has a large equestrian center. It also offers a bowling alley, a movie theater, and ten restaurants.

Red Rock Canyon is just west of here, and that includes the Western Village of Bonnie Springs Ranch. Horseback rides, a petting zoo, and "gunfights" give visitors family-friendly entertainment. The state park of Spring Mountain Ranch is in this same area around the tiny village of Blue Diamond. Historic buildings (formerly owned by an intriguing list of people) are set in scenic grounds with a picnic area.

A short drive south from the Blue Diamond/Silverado Ranch neighborhood takes you to stateline, also known as Primm, where a large roller coaster and a fashion outlet mall will keep you busy for the day.

If shopping and a roller coaster sound too mundane, you may want to visit the Las Vegas Gun Range & Firearm Center. For a rental fee, you can shoot a couple of big guns on the indoor firing range.
