Description:

CLOSED 05-16-11
The Sahara has been on the Las Vegas Strip since 1952. It survived the era of implosions (a period of time that sadly took the Sahara's enormously popular next-door neighbor, the Wet 'n Wild water park). Today, it's one of a handful of Strip properties that is still pulling in Las Vegas visitors who are looking for a budget-priced rooms on the Strip. You won't find cutting-edge technology at the Sahara (unless you count the Cyber Speedway arcade) or celebrity chefs, but you'll also spend a lot less than you will at the new, ultra-modern Las Vegas hotel casinos.

The Sahara is at the north end of the Strip, which puts it closer to downtown. It's also right across the street from the Las Vegas Convention Center (the back of the Sahara borders Paradise Road, where the LVCC is located), and it's close to the Las Vegas Monorail.

This is a hotel casino that might be described as Classic Vegas, and the Sahara embraces that definition. The property has a pool, a fitness club, and entertainment at lounges and in the theater. Guests will have to walk or take the Monorail to Strip destinations south of the Sahara; the Sahara is the northernmost stop on the LV Monorail.
