The Cosmopolitan wants to appeal to the "curious class," and anyone curious about luxury and the newest incarnation of Las Vegas will want to see the Strip's latest addition. This is another sleek, stylish, modernistic hotel casino--proving that themes are out these days in Las Vegas.
The Cosmopolitan is a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, a group of hotels that seeks to offer the traveler "fresh, inventive and positively unique experiences." Posh extras, like luxury linens, and a boutique point of view are this group's goals. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers 14 restaurants, a full host of amenities (concierge, spa, etc.), five bars, and Marquee Nightclub, another hot spot from the people behind Tao.
Located in a slim high-rise between the Bellagio and City Center, the Cosmopolitan's 50 stories rise dramatically above the Strip. An eclectic collection of artwork is on display throughout the hotel, including a graffiti-ed garage. By far the most eye-catching element of the hotel is the three-story chandelier that houses bars within its crystal folds. The casino is on the first floor, a shopping level is next, and the top level is home to several restaurants and spacious sitting areas, along with a pool table for anyone up for a game.
Marquee will offer a day-club, pool-side experience in the summer. Visitors can choose from three pools, including one that overlooks the Strip. Expect all the standards for a Vegas Pool Club: plush cabanas, music, and food.
