- Cuisines: American, Barbecue
NileGuide Expert tip:
A local favorite for barbecue, but both locations are a good distance from the Strip. The location on West Tropicana is close to Red Rock, and the one on Craig Road is close to Nellis Air Force Base.
- This locally owned and operated barbecue restaurant is a family business. It's not a fancy place to eat, and you may have to eat with plastic utensils, but if you're a barbecue lover, it's probably worth it to try Buzz's food.
The menu at Buzz BBQ includes brisket, ribs, Andouille sausage, catfish, chicken, and pork. Entrees are served with the sauce on the side, not on the meat. Sides are traditional Southern/barbecue: macaroni and cheese, ice water coleslaw, collard greens, black eyes peas, and fried okra. Desserts include homemade ice cream and cobbler pies. Prices here are very reasonable, with most individual dishes being under $10. Check online for coupons, which often give you one entrée at half price with the purchase of one full-priced meal.
The small, quiet restaurant is suitable for families. Take-out is available—and with limited seating, that's a good thing. Barbecue lovers describe Buzz as a "dry" style as opposed to the meats being saturated with sauce—which is a plus or minus, depending upon your barbecue preferences.
