The Buffet at TI

• Another gorgeous buffet makeover, now easily the handsomest buffet space in town, sort of contemporary diner, all dark gleaming wood, mirrors, and geometric lines. We feel mixed on the food choices; this is a smaller buffet than one might expect for such a big hotel, and while there is a reasonable range of cuisines (Italian; Japanese, with sushi chefs who will make up fresh plates just for you; Southern, including unexpected spoon bread; deli), there isn't the overwhelming bounty we've come to consider our right when it comes to Vegas buffets. However, there are some well-considered and fine-tasting deli sandwiches (brie and honey, roast beef with goat cheese), plus better-than-decent barbecue ribs and Chinese options. Best of all, some of the most charming dessert choices, focusing on such childhood tastes as cupcakes, fresh cotton candy, quite good crème brûlée (yes, not exactly real kiddie fare, but, let's face, it's just exceptionally good vanilla custard!) and best of all, adorable minidoughnuts, fresh out of the fryer. We ate two dozen and we are not ashamed.
