  • Description:

    • The canopy over Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas is high enough to accommodate a zip line—a fact that Greenheart Conservation Company, the same people who built a zip line just outside Boulder City in Bootleg Canyon, couldn't help noticing. Late in 2010, they constructed a zip line that carries riders 800 feet along a line that starts east of the Fremont Street Experience but ends atop a platform that sits a little above eye-level with the hotels' neon signs.

Just east of the Fremont Street Experience, a 60-foot high platform welcomes riders who want to zip—literally—under the FSE's canopy. Sitting and strapped into a harness, clipped onto a long, straight line, riders zoom along for about 800 feet before coming to a stop at a platform located next to the Four Queens.

Greenheart has been building zip lines in remote areas around the world for years. The Fremont Street Experience is an exception, an urban zip line.

Speeds are approximately 25-30 m.p.h. Riders must be between 60 pounds and 250 pounds and under 6'7". Rides before 6 p.m. are $15; after 6 p.m., $20—that's when you get a chance to zip along while the FSE's light show, Viva Vision, lights up above you.
