NileGuide Expert tip:
Closest casino for attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
- The Hilton's casino is pretty average: 74,000 square feet, filled with every type of casino game and a good selection of both high- and low-limit tables. But the Hilton's race and sports book is humongous--according to the Hilton, it's the world's largest--300 seats and 28 screens. This sports betting extravaganza embraces the philosophy of "Think big or go home."
Two showrooms offer a steady supply of entertainers. The Vegas lounge act lives on at the Tempo Lounge--but not the kind portrayed in comedic parody--this place draws a crowd. Other bars on the property are the Space Quest bar, the 8th Hole Bar (outside the sports book), the Plaza Bar (adjacent to TJ's Steakhouse and Casa Nicola, the Italian restaurant), the Zen Lounge in Benihana, Vince Neil's Tres Rios Cantina, and the Cabana Bar at the pool. The Hilton has several restaurants, including a deli, fast food places, a buffet, and a coffee and wine bar.
Located just a block off the Strip and as close to the Las Vegas Convention Center as you can get without actually being in the Convention Center, the Hilton offers all the standard Vegas amenities without the traffic congestion of the Strip (except during really big conventions). It's also a major stop on the Las Vegas Monorail, and its location at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road put it as close to downtown Las Vegas as it is to the new portions of the Strip.
