Molto Vegas Farmer's Market

• Although Las Vegas is in the middle of the Mojave Desert, the city has several farmer's markets—but Molto's is unusual both because of its emphasis on regionally grown and produced items, and because it's an indoor market. Las Vegas chefs Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich wanted to use fresh food from Southern Nevada and California at their restaurants, and so they started their own farmer's market. Molto's is known locally as simply "the chef's market," and in fact it has a preview at 10:00 just for culinary professionals. At 11:00, everyone can browse--you'll find dates from Tecopa, nuts from Pahrump, herbs from Boulder City, and a selection of what's in season from Gilcrease Orchards, located in the northwest portion of the Las Vegas Valley. The market is open every Thursday, from 11:00 - 1:00.
