NileGuide Expert tip:
December is a very busy time for South Point--that's when the National Finals Rodeo is in town.
- The South Point is aptly named—it's about six miles from the south end of the Strip. This Las Vegas neighborhood casino is most well-known for its equestrian center, although the property has all the standard neighborhood casino extras: a bowling alley, a movie theater, and a selection of moderately priced restaurants.
The casino has a good selection of low limit tables, lots of slot and video poker machines, bingo, and a sports book. Guests who want to gamble will find plenty of options for testing their luck.
Ten restaurants are on site, including the Midwestern favorite Steak 'n Shake, a burger place serving up generous portions. Naturally, there's a buffet, but also a steakhouse, a gourmet room, and Italian and Mexican restaurants.
The equestrian center naturally features events with horse, like rodeos, but it's big enough for BMX and music festivals. Check the events calendar to see what's going on during your visit.
Las Vegas visitors will find moderate prices throughout this off-the-Strip hotel casino, and its full array of entertainment, food, and casino games gives guests plenty of things to do without leaving the property.
