Description:
Sprawled across steep slopes cupping Lac Rond, this resort draws families in both summer and winter. Housing is comprised of two- and three-story stone buildings, their roofs bristling with steeples and dormers. The hotel is directly on a ski mountain with 16 runs for all levels of skiers. A chalet up top has a cafeteria and bar, and cross-country skiing and ice-skating are available. Warm weather brings the possibilities of windsurfing and boating on the lake, as well as rounds on two golf courses. Rooms renovated in 2006 have pine furniture; most also have air-conditioning and many have whirlpools. A bountiful buffet breakfast is served in a dining room overlooking the slopes and the lake.

Spent one night at Le Chantecler. Had a terrible sleep as the mattress was lopsided and extremely uncomfortable. I woke up at least 10 times feeling like I was falling off the bed....
