Getting There -- There are up to eight trains an hour to Leiden from Amsterdam Centraal Station. The ride takes around 35 minutes and costs 14€ ($22) for a day round-trip. Leiden station is about a 10-minute walk northwest of the center. By car, take A4/E19.
Visitor Information -- VVV Leiden, Stationsweg 2D, 2312 AV Leiden (tel. 0900/222-2333; fax 071/516-1227; www.leiden.nl), is just outside the rail station. The office is open Monday from 11am to 5:30pm, Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4:30pm; from April to August, hours are extended to Sunday from 11am to 3pm.
