La Perla

Description:

• Elegant and spacious, La Perla is a jewel of a property. This large, colonial mansion has been restored with great attention to detail by its two American owners. Its glittering white facade leads to a palatial interior of high ceilings and contemporary Nicaraguan art. In addition to a spectacular central courtyard, there is a smaller courtyard farther back, with an immaculate blue-tiled pool. Rooms vary in size; the presidential suite is definitely the biggest, with sweeping dimensions, a giant, half-poster bed, a grandiose wardrobe with elaborate woodcarvings, and huge double doors that open out onto two small street balconies. The standard rooms are much more compact and less impressive but still impeccably decorated, with soft carpets and flatscreen TVs. At the front of the hotel is one of León's best restaurants, while the Canal Bar makes for a good stop for a drink. The staff is bilingual and super friendly.
