We would daresay Lima offers an unforgettable experience for grill and barbecue lovers. Despite Peru not being a country with a remarkable tradition on cattle farming, there's great meat (Peruvian and Argentinian) and to make things better, the creativity of its cooks and the touch of some local ingredients and flavors makes magic on the grills!
For more international flavors, you may like booking a table at Rincon Gaucho, located in the lovely district of Barranco, focused in Argentinian meats, or Longhorn (in San Isidro), that serves quite large dishes, in Argentinian and American grilled styles. Try also El Rodizio, where you have the "all you can eat" option, or La Tranquera, that not only serves Argentinian meats but also a few very Peruvian things, like grilled guinea-pigs.
For another interesting and more local options, you may enjoy El Hornero (Chorrillos and other districts) and Mis Costillitas (Miraflores and other districts), both specialized in Peruvian flavors: the first one is also famous for its large-sized servings, while the latter also includes special sauces made from typical Peruvian products, spices, and fruits.
Following the same trend, Panchita (Miraflores) serves some of the most traditional Peruvian barbecued dishes but blended with the best of the international, Mediterranean cuisine; and Baco y Vaca (again, in the same district), that not only offers great flavors but also a wide selection of South American wines (specially from Argentina and Chile) to choose from.
For some even more Peruvian options, and Pardo's Chicken (in Miraflores, too) focuses in chicken rather than meats actually, offering one of the best "pollo a la brasa" (Peruvian Roasted Chicken) in Lima, or Anticucheria Pepe's, a very affordable place that specializes in some of the most traditional Peruvian grilled meats and dishes, like the anticuchos (cow heart beef in brochettes), chinchulines or pancitas, for example.
