Whether you're on an extended vacation or just want to feel like you are, the apartments/condos of Lima will let you experience the life of a local and save some money, especially if you want to stay more than just a few days.
Many Limenian families in fact do rent rooms and spare apartments, especially for students. It would be an interesting idea to ask any local friend you may have before arriving in Lima, since it is likely that they can recommend you something nice, clean, decent and affordable.
There are also some more or less hotel-standardized options, like the ones we are suggesting here, and there´s one for every budget.
For those who want to save some money, B&B Miraflores Wasi will for sure be a good option, as well as Machu Picchu suites and Vip Imperial; they all are strategically well situated in the city, near markets and fun places, and have reasonable prices.
Other options a little less budget-friendly for longer stays (but cheaper than booking a hotel anyway) are Studios-Aparts San Martin, Suite Service Apart Hotel and Residencial Las Americas, and Park suites, all of them in Miraflores, close to shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, services and of course the Lima Costa Verde beaches.
San Isidro, the financial district, has also some options for this segment: Plaza del Bosque Apart Hotel, near El Olivar park; Peru Star Boutique Apartments, in a quieter area; and Roosevelt, a little closer to the banks buildings and business areas.
