Description:
- Located at the foot of the San Cristobal hill, the Convento de Los Descalzos was founded at the end of the 16th century by Father Andrés Corso as a place of spiritual retreat. Notable features inside include the Ayacuchan cloister, which has paintings in the form of an altarpiece representing the Stations of the Cross; the vestibule, which displays sculptures of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Claire; the order's private courtyard, which still has its original flooring; and the private chapel, which has a beautiful baroque-style façade. The museum has English and Spanish speaking guides who accept small donations from the visitors. Admission required.
