NileGuide Expert tip:
Try to carry your camera in a hidden place.
Description:
Lima Downtown is the first place you need to visit in order to know the traditional architecture and to get a glimpse of Lima's history: buildings like the Cathedral, the Government's Palace, the Archbishopric's Palace, Casa del Oidor, Casa de Aliaga or San Francisco convent are the jewels of the Viceroyalty's architecture and in addition are also located pretty much within walking distance. You will also find many very affordable typical restaurants and attractions, like the colonial balconies, the old Baroque churches and the chance of enjoying a calesas ride. Take a walk along the Jiron de la Union to arrive to the Plaza San Martin, the next most other important plaza in Lima Downtown.
