Limerick City Museum

Description:

  • This small museum is overshadowed by the Hunt Museum, but for history buffs it's worth stopping in. It provides an insight into the town's background, with displays on Limerick's archaeology, natural history, civic treasures, and traditional crafts of lace, silver, furniture, and printing. Also on view are historical paintings, maps, prints, and photographs, as well as the city's original charter, signed by Oliver Cromwell and King Charles II, and a sword presented by Queen Elizabeth I.
