Description:
- St John's is Limerick's central Catholic cathedral. A large, impressive stone structure built between 1856 and 1859, it is a fine example of Gothic architecture. One of the most notable features of the cathedral is its spire which at 86m high is the highest in Ireland. The grounds are home to the Sarsfield Memorial Statue. The Cathedral is still in use today.
