• This hideaway wine bar is still being discovered, but a growing number of pleasantly surprised visitors heap nothing but praise on co-proprietors Nelson and Angelo for their warm hospitality and incisive knowledge of Portuguese wines. Blink and you'll miss the tiny alley that's trying to keep its secret. Fortunately the premises are signposted and once ensconced inside the tiny building you'll be taken on an intriguing journey through the country's diverse wine regions. There are a bewildering number of wines to choose from: earthy reds from the Douro and Alentejo regions; tangy "greens" from the Minho; fresh dry whites from the Dão... They even produce their own, Travessa da Ermida Rerserva! Wines are served by the glass, or you can purchase a bottle. Complementing the list is a select menu of excellent cuisine and tapas-style snacks – the local meats and cheese plates are delicious.
