• Well over a decade old, this is still one of Lisbon's sharpest nightclubs and a regular venue on the European DJ circuit. Celebrated for its funky retro interior and outrageous use of design elements such as oversized billiard balls and enormous birdcages, Lux occupies the three floors of an early 20th-century dockside depot built on concrete stilts. A fashionable seen-to-be-seen venue, the ground floor soundtrack mixes house with a mainstream vibe while the basement resounds to a heavier techno throb. Resident DJs number Yen Sung and Zé Pedro Moura. Live bands perform on occasion. To chill out, the top-floor terrace provides fresh air and a sunrise over the River Tejo. The club is part owned by Hollywood A-lister John Malkovich making this place a favourite haunt of Lisbon's celebrity crowd.
