NileGuide Expert Says:
There's plenty of historic Lisbon within walking distance of this attractive guesthouse.
NileGuide Expert tip:
Choose a top-floor room away from the elevator.
Description:
- One of Lisbon's great budget options, the "Two Nations" guesthouse is set in an unbeatable location on a pedestrian street right in the heart of the city. The tidy but sparse interior is welcoming but a little cramped. Space is at a premium here. There's a choice of single, double, triple and quadruple rooms, all equipped with basic amenities. Most have private bathrooms but guests can opt to share WC facilities in order to keep costs down. None of the rooms are air-conditioned and light sleepers should note that street noise sometimes hits the high notes. The Continental-style breakfast is adequate but lacks imagination. Fortunately the hotel overlooks plenty of neighbourhood cafés so residents can restore their faith in Portuguese coffee, cakes and pastries. Don't expect a luxurious experience. This is a no frills property. Instead use the money saved to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is within walking distance of some of Lisbon's most appetising restaurants and cherished visitor attractions. © NileGuide2011

Brilliant location but sharpen your elbows for breakfast

This was my wife and I's first trip to Lisbon. We were on a budget, and being "hicks from the sticks" spend most of our day bumbling around looking at things and marvelling at city...
