NileGuide Expert Says:
This is where to relax in secluded luxury and the choice of connecting rooms makes this a family-friendly property.
Description:
- One of Lisbon's most attractive hotel properties is also one of its most exclusive. Built by the Count of Valenças in 1883, Lapa Palace holds court in a select neighbourhood and is set in lush, sub-tropical gardens. Converted to a luxury hotel in 1992, Lapa Palace is the preferred choice for the wealthy and famous – Paul McCartney is a former guest. The building is divided into three different sections, The Palace Wing, Garden Wing and Villa Lapa. The River View rooms and Garden Suites have connecting rooms - very convenient for family stays! Of the 109 rooms and suites, it is those located on the Noble Floor that are of particular historical significance: all feature original late 19th-century furnishings. Relaxation is taken seriously here. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools complement a spa facility and fully equipped gymnasium. Guests can retreat to the Rio Tejo Bar for drinks and pleasant river views. Formal dining takes place at Restaurante Lapa, noted for its creative Italian cuisine. © NileGuide2011
Originally built as a palace in the 19th century, this grand building is situated in the center of Lisbon on a hill overlooking the Tagus river. So visitors might benefit from both the astounding view and surrounding area, which makes up one of the most exclusive districts in Lisbon, the palace was converted to a luxurious hotel in 1992. The hotel, besides being surrounded by some of Lisbon's natural beauty, houses a renowned restaurant, Ristorante Hotel Cipriani. The restaurant is famous for both its gastronomical wonders, and for its bar. The bar, Bar Rio Tejo, is a perfect spot to meet before or after dinner is served. To add to the luxury of Lapa Palace are the almost paradise like gardens and the new La Prairie at Lapa Palace Spa offering exclusive beauty treatments and massages. A perfect place to cool down after working out in the hotel's gym. One of the many amenities offered to the guests. - © wcities.com 2012
