But Martim Moniz is a safe neighbourhood – it just needs a good lick of paint. Likewise, the hotel interior could do with sprucing up, although the old-fashioned ambience remains part of Nova Goa's charm. And it's squeaky clean! The 42 rooms, all with private bathroom, are air-conditioned and feature satellite TV and direct dial telephone. All are serviced daily. The Continental-style breakfast is wholesome but rather monotonous but there are plenty of excellent cafés and restaurants on the doorstep.   Located downtown, close to Martim Moniz, you will find the Nova Goa Residential. This local residential charges invitingly low prices and is at the heart of traditional Lisbon. This district of Lisbon can be discovered by foot, or by using one of the many forms of transportation available nearby. Martim Moniz is a busy area, and not very far are the districts of Mouaria and Costa do Costelo, where you can find the real culture in the city.
