Set in a residential neighbourhood away from the city centre, this restaurant is best reached via taxi.

  • Description:

    • This gourmet restaurant has the air of an exclusive club with its elegant décor and refined service. Housed in a mid-18th-century mansion located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, antique furnishings and rare ceramics reinforce the sense of the classical. The accomplished menu is modern Portuguese characterised by dishes such as roasted sea bream with black olives and sautéed vegetables (pargo assado com azeitonas e salteado de legumes) and braised savoury chicken drumstick chicken leg with Portuguese stew lasagne (coxa de galinha com lasanha do cozida à Portuguesa). The wine list includes some very noble reds and whites; aperitif cocktails can be enjoyed at the bar. The dining room is wonderful – a light, airy conservatory that opens onto a pretty garden replete with majestic palm tree. During the summer tables are set outside to take advantage of the romantic setting. Dress code here is smart, informal. Reservations are recommended. © NileGuide2011
