Serving up fresh pasta for 25 years.

Try the Bellini, a traditional tipple of peach champagne.

    Description:

    • This stylish eatery has been serving fresh homemade pasta dishes since 1986 and remains one of Lisbon's best-known Italian restaurants. Occupying the ground floor of an original Bairro Alto townhouse, the peppermint green furnishings lend the two-room restaurant a bright, fresh vibe. Casanostra is overseen by Italian Maria Paola Porru who learnt to cook as a child and moved to Portugal in the early 1970s. It's her influence that dictates the deceptively simple menu that lists an accomplished range of fettuccine and spaghetti dishes as well as pizza and lasagne choices. A house speciality is the masa fresca com trufas (fresh pasta with truffles). Grilled meat options include lemon veal. The desserts include an impressive tiramisu. During the summer months this place can get very busy and so try and book a table in advance. Arriving on spec however means you can always enjoy a glass of wine at the tiny bar if you have to wait. © NileGuide2011
