Description:
- This cavernous beer hall and restaurant is Portugal's most beautiful and oldest brewery (though alcohol is no longer made on the premises). The building is a former monastery that dates back to the mid-19th century, though the foundations are far older and date from 1294. Several rooms – the atrium, the dining hall, and the Maria Keil room, are set under vaulted ceilings and decorated with outstanding azulejo (tile) panels depicting Masonic-inspired mosaics of exceptional craftsmanship. This treasure trove of national artwork makes for a truly memorable location and whets the appetite for seafood starters like octopus salad, clams Bulhão Pato style, and creamy brown crabmeat. Shellfish options include crab, lobster, prawn and shrimp while fish dishes include the ubiquitous bacalhau (cod) creations and seasonal fresh salmon. Meat dishes are available. Be sure to leave room for dessert that includes sweet-sounding creations like flan á la Carmelo. A range of Portuguese and international beers, including the restaurant's own brew, complements an eclectic wine list. © NileGuide 2011
A well known bar in Lisbon, the Cervejaria Trindade boasts a spacious bar and a restaurant. It is ideally located in downtown, close to several attractions. The decor is traditional and perfectly complements the food. The menu includes famous Trindadian steaks which are prepared in a special sauce and another popular dish of fresh seafood. Thanks to its large-sized dining space Trindade can host big dinner groups comfortably - perfect for tour groups, families, or late work gatherings. - © wcities.com 2012
