  One of the outstanding attractions of Don Pomodoro is the location: it overlooks the river at Docas, Lisbon's fashionable waterfront zone in Alcântara. The influential Academia Italiana Della Cucina acknowledges the restaurant's menu of traditional cuisine, drawn from various regions across Italy, and the dishes don't disappoint. Consider the baked aubergines with tomato sauce, mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese as a starter followed by spaghetti com gamberi – delicious shrimps sautéed in olive oil, garlic, tomato sauce and aromatic herbs. Leave room for desserts like marinated pineapple carpaccio with fresh coriander and lemon ice-cream. The restaurant is a great place for larger groups and families – there's a separate children's menu. Outside tables are quickly snapped up on warmer evenings.
