    • Created in the 1960s, the Southbank Centre  after the Festival of Britain of 1951 had inspired renewed interest in the arts in the United Kingdom. The booming concrete facility sits along the Thames near the London Eye and it home to 21 acres of space devoted to the arts.

      The Southbank Centre is made up of the Royal Festival Hall, the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Saison Poetry Gallery.
