  • While London is notorious for high-priced dining options, there is luckily no shortage of affordable fare. Our list of London's top cheap restaurants are centrally located, although the further afield one travels, the more reasonably priced eating establishments become.

Soho's Chinatown is filled with budget dining options so making a decision is tough. The tight space of the Baozi Inn feels authentic, as do the steaming hot bowls of noodles and savory buns. For more economical alternatives in Soho try British comfort food at Mother Mash, where every sausage and meat pie is served with a heaping serving of smashed spuds and it's also open for a fast, wholesome breakfast. Lively Hummos Bros (also easy on the wallet) just around the corner on Wardour Street serves chickpeas in every imaginable fashion.

London's list of cheap restaurants would not be complete without a proper "chippy," a fish-n-chips shop. The Golden Hind in Marylebone is one of London's oldest establishments with plenty of fried batter and is rather popular with locals.

Noodle bar chain Wagamama has several locations around town that are fast, cheap and tasty. Alan Yau created the pan-Asian success as well as the Michelin-rated Hakasan in the West End.

For a traditional tea of sandwiches, scones, and cakes far cheaper(and tastier, frankly) than the Ritz, head to Bea's of Bloomsbury. Bea's now how has a City location in the fancy New Change building near St. Paul's.

For a truly cheap and cheerful experience, Borough Market is a foodie's dream come true. Snack your way around the market (open on weekends).
