If you care most about being in a central location, consider the Royal Adelphi. Close to Covent Garden, the theater district, and Trafalgar Square, it's an unorthodox choice away from the typical B&B stomping grounds. London has far better B&Bs, but not in this part of town. Bedrooms call to mind London's swinging 1960s heyday, and are decently maintained and comfortable, with good beds. Plumbing, however, is a bit creaky, and the lack of air-conditioning can make London feel like summer in the Australian outback during the city's few hot days.
