Kensington & Earl's Court
Kensington is rich - not just in terms of the size of the bank accounts of its residents, but in terms of arts and culture: South Kensington is the home to three of London's major museums (the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum, and the National History Museum), ensuring it's status as one of the major stops on the tourist circuit. Although no Central Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Palace Gardens to the north, offer green-space in the centre of the city with the Serpentine Gallery, a contemporary art gallery, situated on the border of the two parks.
West Kensington, west of Earl's Court, maintains its status as the "dodgy bit" of Kensington - but remains the best place to get a kebab (head to Best Mangal on North End Road to see what the fuss is all about).
Earl's Court acts as a buffer zone of sorts between the two areas, with the immense Earl's Court exhibition & conference centre acting as a literal divider. The large number of Australian and New Zealanders traditionally residing there is slowly dwindling as gentrification takes grip and the area is slowly being subsumed into Kensington proper.
