It stands on the site of the original Bertorelli's, founded over 80 years ago, though it's virtually unrecognisable as a traditional Italian trattoria. Refurbishment has transformed the interior into a modern, near-industrial cavity, all stainless steel and bright light. Similarly, the menu has a contemporary feel, so you won't find 101 different varieties of pasta and sauces. Instead, choose from treats such as baked cod in a parmesan and basil crust with balsamic dressing, and pork saltimbucca with oyster mushrooms and marsala. The café serves up a range of reliable Italian fare: expect crostini, bruschetta, salads, pizza and pasta dishes.
