Description:
- The name may come from the Latin "carne vale" meaning "farewell to meat" but it certainly isn't farewell to taste at this ever popular Mediterranean vegetarian restaurant and snack bar. During weekdays Carnevale is packed out with office workers choosing from the large selection of foccacia sandwiches on offer, but as night draws in it's the small but lively restaurant area that gets busy, as people enjoy and after-work or pre-night out meal. And who can blame them with food as imaginative and tasty as this? Recommended is the leek and potato frittata with tomato chilli jam, and the warm salad of morels, Jersey Royals and sorrel - but everything is delicious.

Refreshing vegetarian dishes full of flavor

Not posh or daring, but stylish and tasteful. Not expensive either. Great for conscious eaters (or not) on a budget (or not). Perfect for anyone who loves good food.

You don't need to be veggie to enjoy this reasonably priced pocket charmer

I am a happy carnivore but have often enjoyed a quick lunch with friends in this Whitecross Street institution. The food is tasty, fresh and filling, and the service is brisk and friendly.

Quaint, Quirky, Fun Food

I booked dinner for my partner and I last night (10/11/2011) as a bit of a surprise. As my partner is a veggie it always provides an opportunity to find a quaint and quirky dining experience....
