- This contemporary-Italian Brompton Cross stalwart is still packing in the ladies who lunch in this exclusive shopping neighbourhood. The two split-level restaurants are somewhat formal, but are beautifully decorated in warm hues. There's also a conservatory with vines creeping into it - the perfect venue for lunch on a summer's day. Daphne's success lies not in the variety of the food available - the usual risottos, pastas and salads - but in its ability to take classic Italian dishes and add that something extra to them that seems to make a completely new meal; the prosciutto di Parma with figs is a good example. The wine list is exclusively Italian.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and above all great food... Went before visiting Chelsea flower show with friends yesterday and we all loved it, will hopefully visit again.
