- If you don't mind a bit of organised chaos in the kitchen, if you fancy a "plate of happiness" and sharing a table with strangers doesn't phase you, then edge your way down the steep stairs of this cramped/cosy (depending on how you look at it!) basement restaurant. They've been here 35 years, serving some of the best value Asian, Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern vegetarian and vegan food in town, to Covent Garden office workers and shoppers in the know, and to curious out-of-town visitors drawn by the queues and fuss outside. Don't be too put off if there is a line - it usually moves quite quickly. Come between 3 and 5pm if you want a little peace and quiet. There's no license and no charge for corkage so this is the perfect place to BYO! No credit cards accepted.
