  • If you've been hearing about all the trendy restaurants in Clerkenwell and want to try one, make it Moro. The aroma of delicious meats on the charcoal grill will attract carnivores, but vegetarian meals are also available. At the long zinc bar, you can fill up on some of the city's best tapas, or a Maghreb-inspired dinner of impeccable quality. The restaurant's recipes were inspired by the epoch when Arab culture met European culture in southern Spain (8th-15th c.). Starters include fried stuffed sardines flavored with coriander and cumin or charcoal-grilled small filets of pork with ham and sweet peppers. For a tantalizing main, dig into the charcoal-grilled lamb chops with peppers or the wood-roasted bream with a Seville orange sauce, lentils, and fresh spinach. Desserts are always tempting and made fresh daily, including Málaga raisin ice cream with sherry or a yogurt cake with pistachios and pomegranates. Tapas are available at the bar Monday to Saturday 12:30 to 10:30pm, including quail eggs, Manchego cheese, and octopus salad.
