Texture Restaurant

Description:

  • This extraordinary restaurant treats us to the sensuous flavors of a talented chef, Iceland-born Agnar Sverrisson, who worked for the celebrated Raymond Blanc at La Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons outside Oxford. He is assisted by French-born Xaviar Rousset, acclaimed as the U.K.'s best sommelier. Their 60-seat restaurant and 30-seat champagne bar are the toast of London foodies. The chef's Icelandic roots are evident in such good-tasting signature dishes as lamb from Skagafjördur or Icelandic cod. Vegetables change with the season -- in autumn, for example, they feature wild mushrooms, hazelnuts, and Umbrian black truffles. Another specialty is chargrilled Anjou pigeon with a red-wine sauce and "bacon popcorn."

Superb Food - Nice Lunctime Menu

  • Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Texture - the salmon starter was particularly fantastic, as was the pea moose!

    Really hard to fault

  • 10 times burned doesn't yet make me shy of trying the taster menu at restaurants which offer one -- I'm a sucker for a variety of tastes -- but no need to worry at Texture....
