Markets galore: There is the Victorian covered market of Leadenhall selling gorgeous foods M-F, avoid lunchtime crowds though. Petticoat Lane Market on Sundays for newer items on Middlesex St. and the favorite Old Spitalfields Market M-F (11-4) & Sundays.
Description:
- Beginning at Tower Hill tube station and finishing up near Liverpool Street, the Aldgate walk is a three mile stroll through the eastern section of the City. Once you exit the Tower Hill tube station, walk to Trinity Square Gardens and look at the World War II memorial pavilion and garden. Other highlights on the walk include the church of St Andrew Undershaft off Leadenhall Street, an ancient church that was re-built in 1520-32 and has a memorial dedicated to the historian John Stow and the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue off Bevis Marks.
