Description:
A Victoria and Albert Museum specializes in toys & games from the past through the present. The variety of dolls alone is staggering; some have such elaborate period costumes that you don't even want to think of the price tags they would carry today. The museum has the England's largest collection of dolls' houses. From simple cottages to miniature mansions, complete with fireplaces, grand pianos, kitchen utensils, and carriages some items date back as far as 1673. You'll also find optical toys, marionettes, puppets, a considerable exhibit of soldiers and war toys from both World War eras, trains and aircraft, and a display of clothing and furniture relating to the social history of childhood.
The musuem has several interactive galleries and art workshops to keep curious hands busy.
