  • Description:

    • One the finest examples of Palladian architecture in existence today. Chiswick House was completed in 1729 for the third Earl of Burlington's country residence and used primarily for entertaining. Known as the birthplace of the English Landscape Movement, the gorgeous Italianate gardens are said to have inspired Central Park in New York. Chiswick residents use the gardens as a local park and children are often found climbing the tree used in the Beatles' 1966  Rain video. Located just a few minutes walk from the River Thames and Hogarth's House in West London, Chiswick House is open for tours April through November.  In summer, concerts, operas cricket matches and dog shows are all held on site.
