Description:
- Freightliners Farm is in Islington in the north of London. The name comes from the fact that the animals were originally housed in railway goods vans. It is a registered charity and the only city farm in the UK that has a non-slaughtering policy. It contains gardens, many animals and there are currently five beehives with a continental beehive in the process of being built. It has a fully equipped classroom where classes are run for adults and children on such topics as composting, spinning and weaving, animal care, carpentry, horticulture and bee keeping. It also has a vegetarian café. - Caroline Collard
