Herne Hill Velodrome

Herne Hill Velodrome - London

  • Description:

    • Herne Hill Velodrome is considered to be one of the best cycling tracks in the UK and was used for the 1948 Olympic Games. At that time it had just been repaired from damage as a barrage balloon site during the war. It was originally designed to cater for all cyclists from the beginner to the Olympic Champion. The cycle track is 450 meters long and its steepest angle is 30 degrees. Training and racing take part here all through the year and there is a children's mountain biking session on a Saturday morning. - Caroline Collard
