NileGuide Expert tip:
Dine at the award winning Mudchute Kitchens located within the farm
Description:
- Mudchute City Farm was once a stone and mud dump for the Millwall Docks that has been beautifully converted to become the largest urban farm in London. It was started in 1977 and has grown from there to include an equestrian center, a shop, an award winning café, an education center, a nature trail and, over 200 animals. There is plenty of wildlife including birds, butterflies, wild flowers, woodlands and ponds. The 31 acres of land has been converted almost completely by volunteers. Take a horse riding lesson at the riding school and stables. The farm offers daily, weekly and other special events, check the website before you visit.
